Welcome

From here you will be able to view webcasts of our live council meetings, view archived council meetings from the last few months and access any documents or presentations associated to the webcasts.

Upcoming and our most recent meetings are displayed on the right hand side of this page. To view an archive of a recent meeting simply click on the title of the meeting you wish to view.

What is a Webcast?

A webcast is basically a transmission of audio and video over the internet. Video cameras at our council meetings capture the live information and send it to a central server, which in turn sends it to anyone that would like to view the meeting. Through the use of your internet connection (either broadband or via a dial-up modem) and Windows Media free player you can view the meetings live from the comfort of your own home.

Should you miss a meeting, or would like to view a section of the meeting again, then you can view the archive of the webcast. The archives allow you to view the meeting at you leisure and, through the use of the index points, allow you to jump to a specific agenda point or speaker. The June 10 webcast is not on this site because we experienced a major sound problem on the night - i.e. no sound at all - and despite our best efforts throughout the night to reinstate we were not able to. Therefore the the recorded meeting has not been uploaded on to the site. Thankfully this problem, which was connected with our sound system and not the webcasting equipment has now been rectified.
